Since 1914, the Alumni Council has acted as a conduit between the Alumni Association and the College.
2013-14 Slate of New Members
Bowdoin welcomes nominations to the Alumni Council from staff, faculty, trustees, and alumni. The Council’s Nominations Committee reviews nominations and proposes a slate of nominees each year, representing seven decades or at-large positions. The 2013-14 slate of new members has been approved by the full Council and is presented to you below.
Sean M. Bell '92 was an Asian Studies major at Bowdoin, later earning a Masters in Business from the University of Washington. He is currently Executive Vice President at Alere Wellbeing and has served Bowdoin as a BASIC volunteer. He lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife, Amy (Smith) Bell '92. They have two daughters: Sophie (12) and Margot (10). When not working, Sean can be found biking or running through the Pacific Northwest!
Dana E. Krueger ‘99 majored in history and Russian at Bowdoin, later earning a JD from Boston University School of Law. She is currently Senior Counsel – Securities, Finance & Governance at The Boeing Company’s headquarters in Chicago. Prior to joining Boeing in 2009, she was a member of the corporate department of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in the firm’s Boston office. Dana serves on the Ravinia Festival Associates Board and The Boeing Company Employees Community Fund, and has served Bowdoin as a member of the Athletic Hall of Honor Selection Committee.
John Pierce, MD ’69, was a chemistry major at Bowdoin, went on to Tufts Medical, graduated in 1974. He lived in Santa Fe for 4 years after his internship working at the village doctor for San Felipe Pueblo, then moved to San Francisco to complete his residency training in internal medicine. In 1982 he went into private practice in the Mission District and has been here ever since. He has 3 daughters the youngest of which will be heading off to Scripts College the end of August to start her freshman year. He grew up in Maine and loves coming back.
